Glen Hansard是樂隊The Frames的成員，Marketa Irglova的爸爸則是他的樂迷，有一次The Frames去捷克Tour，Mr. Irglova招待Hansard留宿自己家裡，介紹他認識了自己的女兒﹣當時還只有12歲的Marketa。兩人就這樣認識了。第一次見面，年幼的Marketa問Hansard：「你的歌是不是全都關於你自己？」Hansard答她：「不，都有些別人的故事。」然後Marketa說：「你應該只唱自己的故事啊。」就是這樣﹐年長18年的Hansard對這個小女生另眼相看，更在後來邀請會彈琴的她一起做音樂。所以這次合作拍戲﹐兩人交流非常自然﹐讓觀眾有看得很近很真實的感覺...
